I fell in love with Sordid Lives many moons ago in Fort Lauderdale at a local theatre putting on unknown independent films. I thought it was hardly independent with stars like Delta Burke, Leslie Jordan, Olivia Newton-John, Beau Bridges, and several others! After waiting YEARS for it to be released on DVD, I've purchased six copies of this fantastic film. The first three were borrowed and never returned, the fourth was trapped in a friend's trunk after a car accident and the fifth I have in my collection. The love for Sordid Lives has extended to literally every friend who's been introduced. I was compelled to buy another DVD tonight, merely for the purpose of getting a signed copy.
Long story short....you know my stories never are, I became infatuated with Jason Dottley by following Del Shores. Yes, I have a boyfriend, yes, I know it's a school girl crush, yes I know he's married, but I'm allowed at this age to have one or two of those . Jason played Ty on the Logo series of Del's great film and he's subsequently made some very fun music
Tonight, despite the attitude at Town, I met them both! It's been a great day and I am a bigger fan of Del Shores than I've ever been before. I won't spoil the show, but my favorite line was related to co-dependency....the performance was brilliant and took me back to my non-instrumental Christian roots. I wish I knew about it further in advance so I could have enjoyed it with a large group of friends. Fortunately, my hot single (call me if you want his number) bestest of friends joined me for the show! Fun times in DC!
There may be only 8? shows left on this ~40 show tour, but if you can catch it, it's worth your time! I'm not a film critic, I won't generate crowds with my 2 blog followers, but I can tell you that it's worth the price of admission!

Del & Jason In My Hood!
I am not generally star struck, whether A-List or not, but have had a strange infatuation with all things Sordid for many years! I rarely blog these days, and likely have only 2 or 3 blog followers left, but this is the most relevant place to share details about this show! Remember all the posts about Jason Dottley and his occasional comment that made me giddy? This is definitely a blog-worthy topic; perhaps I can get some ChimneyJ followers to click over and learn about the excitement...
Tomorrow night, Del Shores' Sordid Confessions will be in DC at Town! After years of being in MANY cities, literally days before or after Del and/or Jason perform, I will finally get to see them in person, literally around the corner from home!
Please CLICK HERE to buy tickets (only $15-standing or $20-seated) and join me tomorrow night at Town!

AFA vs. Sordid Lives
The Florida Chapter of AFA has attacked Sordid Lives and is trying to go after their advertisers. Here's an excerpt from Joe.My.God. Click it to see the AFA full alert:
According to a Florida Family release, the show depicts various members of the family as lesbian, homosexual, bi-sexual, and transgender. Among the program's sponsors are Memphis-based St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Children International. David Caton: "As a matter of fact, St. Jude Children's Hospital was one of the most frequent advertisers on the five programs that we monitored on LOGO, and Children International has been consistent for about the last three months," he contends. Del Shores, the show's writer, left his wife and two daughters to marry his homosexual partner. Communications from Florida Family to LOGO have gone unanswered, so Caton is calling on the general public to send emails to advertisers. My super cute Jason Dottley posted this video response on YouTube denouncing the most vicious accusation that he scandalously stole Del from his former wife and kids when Dell was divorced many moons prior to Jason & Dell's marriage.

Jason Dottley Sucks?
I don't understand my fascination with Jason Dottley, but I owe no explanation for this position. He, however, may need to explain this series of photos from Mavrixonline.com. Is it a penis substitute? Is he trying to be a candy kid? He isn't dressed like he's coming from a rave? Is it an ecstasy reference? WTF? Perhaps it was just to get silly people like me to look...Click the thumbnail for the full article and all the pics.

Sordid New Years?
Surely this doesn't mean Dell is trying to boost his cash flow with the end of Sordid Lives as implied by TMZ's coverage back in October when he first sold memorabilia on eBay. According to a Sordid Lives Fan Blog, LOGO ordered Season 2 with 18 episodes back in August, but I haven't yet been able to find any formal announcements or press release that this happened. I will be sad if it goes away. If you've heard otherwise, please let me know!

Sordid Lives, The Series: A Success!
If you missed it, don't say I didn't give you enough advance warning! I started blogging about it last fall and reminded you multiple times! Unfortunately, I couldn't watch it live because of my obligation to see Young Kevin's second to final performance of Powerhouse (see summary of that below.) Here's the Sordid Lives series trailer - definitely worth watching, especially if you are one of the few who's never seen the movie. We'll be playing the series premiere via DVR at this Sunday's Brunch!
Side note about Kevin's Play, Powerhouse, from the Capital Fringe Festival: You should go see the last performance on Friday if you haven't already made it. It is...lets say interesting. Perhaps not the best written thing of all time, but Kevin does a superb job in his very prominent role, and looks pretty damn butch in the sex scene with that petite little partner. The whole quirky concept could have been taken much further (the play; not the sex scene,) but I struggled to gain any deeper meaning from it. Perhaps some 70's drugs would have helped? Too bad I'm a good Christian woman. Forgive my bad blogging skills; I forgot my camera and my cell phone...Thankfully, Special took some camera photos for me and I'll add them to the blog when she sends them.

Sordid Lives, The Series: Starts Wednesday, July 23 at 10 PM on Logo. Remember when Jason Dottley, the star, commented on my blog and then did it again? I think we should schedule a viewing party (in the style of movie night.) You have to check out his cute photo shoot for the series.

Jason Drinks
No, not the Jason the District, Jason Dottley. Check out this recent clip from TMZ. I still can't wait for his new Sordid Lives series this fall on Logo. There's an iPhone preview of the trailer sort of previewed in the clip.

Church & Sordid Lives update
.jpg)
If I found this church before going out last night, I might have gotten up for a valuable lesson instead of falling down. We intended to go to Nellies, but it was booked for the closing party (Reel Affirmations Film Festival) which we decided not to buy tickets for. Instead we settled on the old faithful places. Solly's then Polly's, and then Solly's again for last call out of that odd fabricated obligation we have to enter when walking past.
According to GaySocialites.com, Rue McClanahan has been offered the role of Peggy in the Sordid Lives series. Hopefully she'll choose to join the all-star cast include Olivia Newton-John, Delta Burke, Beth Grant and Leslie Jordan! Can you imagine? Rue & Britney...Regardless whether it is a good idea or not, I'm off to the Wonderland Ballroom for some Emergen-C Mimosas and brunchy foods. The DC Police alerts warn of closed streets and police activity in that area, but we are fairly certain it doesn't involve that actual corner.
If you haven't popped over to Glitter Girl Tiff to see her adventures, check out this video she posted. Take a few minutes to read her blog too. She was last spotted in Seattle.
Oh yes...and congratulate Nurse Timmy - he got an A on his English mid-term!
(shout out to Boston Steamer for locating this church - I really didn't find it on my own)

Jason Dottley
Check it out peeps...an actor or someone claiming to be the actor actually commented on my blog. See his comments on the previous post.
I did a little research - check these out:
MySpace - The Sordid Lives MySpace page.
Splashnewsonline - Another story about Sordid Lives with video.
IMDb - Jason's profile on the Internet Movie Database.
JasonDottley.com - his official website.
Olivia Newton John - Her official website where she also discusses the series in her news tab.
If it's legitimate, Jason Dottley should know that there is a huge contingent of movie night participants and their friends in DC that will be all over this series. Yes, I emailed him for more info!
For those of you who may have missed the 1,000 times we've watched this movie at my place, here's a YouTube cut that will give you a glimpse of why it is so fantastic. TV night anyone?

Sordid Lives
If they are really turning one of my favorite movies into a series I will be so excited. If TMZ is accurate and Britney Spears does it...I might explode with happiness. Can you imagine, Britney, Delta, & Olivia on the same small screen?

Day 1
So here it is. I've made it to 2:00 on day 1. I'm not liking it, but am using Sissy's (Sordid Lives) rubber band technique. Most of you know what that means.
